SUNBORN RISING – Beneath The Fall

Barra inherits her father’s passion for exploring and discovering new territories.  After discovering her father’s journals her passion is ignited and she will go so far as to disobey her mother to embark on a journey, the same journey that took her father.

But her love for her family and friends pushes her to save their tree from the black rot that is slowly creeping upon them and threatening to destroy their lives.  She and her two best friends adventure on a new quest through the floating tree-scape of Cerulean desperate to find a way to save them all.

Aaron Safronoff depicts a fantasy tale into a world that has forgotten their past but more importantly forgotten that there are bigger worlds outside of their tree.  The characters and the settings are well developed so much so that they will drag you into their realm and fill your mind with colorful illustrations as you watch your imagination twist and turn the story into a movie you will never forget.

I recommend Sunborn Rising – Beneath the Fall to YA Fantasy readers who are looking for something different and refreshing from the normal dragons and magic.

Willows of Fate is magnetizing!

Desdemona struggles through mental issues all her life that she eventually drowns with drinking and sex. Finally after she reaches the bottom of the barrel, she pulls herself up and runs down the narrow path towards a decent life, but those mental issues that she thought were mostly hallucinations, burn in the back of her mind.

After her mother’s death, those visions rise to the top and she soon discovers that the visions are real and always have been. The apparitions persuade her that she has to come to their world, that she is in grave danger.  She learns there is a dark force after what she possesses.  Almost too late, she will discover the secrets of the dark force and the possession they are willing to kill for.

I highly enjoyed reading this Willows of Fate (The Lands of Sun and Stone Series Book 1) with its unique characters and its magnetizing twists and turns.  When reading a story, my first attraction is if the author’s words will pull me into a movie where I see pictures instead of black words on a white page.  That is exactly what the author, Suzanna J. Linton has done for me.  Now I crave for a sequel to find out what has happened to Desdemona.

I recommend this book for anyone who wants to escape reality and jump into a world of action, romance, and betrayal.

CHAOTIC BRILLANCE!

Eve is in constant turmoil between her father’s loving motivations and her mother’s not-so-loving expectations.  Her constant failures eat away at her self esteem while she becomes a rope in the game of Tug-Of-War between her parents.

When Eve’s mother pushes her to do the ‘unthinkable’ all hell breaks loose, giving her the confidence to decide that she no longer needs Life’s false motherly attention.  Giving in to her true nature with a little help from Destiny, Eve strips her mother from Life.

Death’s true love becoming evident, she promotes the one sister that never showed her a millisecond of affection.  Maybe the Fates were right, Life and Death shouldn’t have tempted them and had a daughter.

I was lucky enough to receive this story as a free download and I am thrilled to have enjoyed the unique tale of love and hate.  Patti Larsen is one of my favorite young adult authors and she never disappoints. Ms. Larsen has a skill of creating worlds and characters that collide and combust into a story that pulls you in like vacuum-sucking vortex.

I wish had ten thumbs to hold up for the first book in a new series that is truly to become my new reading addiction.

Intriguing with its Unique Quality!!!

Portrait of a sexy male model as ancient warrior with sword and helmet

The Pearl Savage #1 Alpha Warrior of the Band by Tamara Rose Blodgett

Our future is never predetermined.  Our lives almost never turn out the way we expected them too.  Clara Williamson realized this when her world of sphere-dwelling and continuous abuse changed.

America suffers a dark gloomy apocalyptic event which tosses them into the past of their own history mixed with micro splashes of the future.  Citizens dwell in spheres created one hundred forty years prior, designed to protect them from the fatal results of the cataclysmic events that occured.

Society has reverted to medieval times with Kings, Queens, and a high court.  Clara, princess and royalty faces torment and abuse everyday.  With arranged marriages, she is to be forced to marry a tyrant who physcially tortures and threatens to do worse, all while her mother watches and approves.

With the help of her closest friends as well as citizens who hope for a better future, she escapes the sphere, only to be taken by savages.

Clara faces danger and fear of the unknown when she discovers the outside was so much more than what they were taught all their lives.  Secrets reveal themselves like petals of a flower slowly opening.

With newly opened eyes and heart, Clara discovers that the outside people are not savages afterall and her traumatic experience was really a blessing in disguise.

I have to say that I downloaded this book on my kindle app, only because it was free at the time.  That was four years ago.  I really wish I had read it sooner because I didn’t want to stop.  My heart went out to Clara and the abuse and torment she endured.  Now there are several books in this series and I can’t wait to get my hands on book two.

I recommend this dark paranormal fantasy to anyone who is interested is something unique and out of the norm.

Will definitely be adding Tamara Rose Blodgett to my favorite author’s list.

Review on Desmond Cory’s “On the Gulf”

I can honestly say that this is the first time I have read a psychological thriller that pulled at me and wouldn’t let me put it down. Typically this would be a movie that I would go see with the husband but not really be interested in. This story was different and I highly enjoyed it. On the Gulf by Desmond Cory drew me into a world of an Arabic state called Fariq where political battles involving greed and power struggles take place.

At first Desmond Cory slowly introduces you to Kevin Bone and his interaction with a highly powerful Rashid Sheikh, creating the atmosphere and ambience of the world where he will snag you with a hook and pull you in as if you were a fish on a line. Although there is a lot of violence fueled by the greed and desire for power you are dipped into the lives of others who are connected to the events, not only physically but mentally as well.

Desmond Cory has created a world with characters that are both good and evil and you the reader will experience both sides to the nature of their souls. Cory has a talent and skill with revealing explicit details and a style of writing that will allow the words to flow like colorful pictures in a movie. I definitely recommend this book and invite readers to step out of their normal genres to take an adventure into a world they otherwise would likely not visit.

Spellbinding!

SECRETS AND DEMONS BY Daniel Devine

Secrets and Demons is a tale of pure unselfish love. The destiny of two souls cross each other’s path where together they learn the beauty of their hearts as well as the depths of their own personal souls.

Friendships and innocent love aid Liam and Jayden down a road to self-discovery as they are determined to find the clues to the disappearance of Liam’s father and the reason behind his disturbing silence, depression, and lack of desire to live.

Daniel Devine has managed, regardless of the reader’s opinions or beliefs, to feel every emotion that Liam and Jayden experience. I found myself entranced and sitting on the edge of my seat flinching at their pain, holding my breath as all the pieces of the puzzle and Liam’s mystery are revealed.

This a great story for the hopeless romantics of our young adult generation.

Master Over You Review!

Beware of entering this dark and twisted parallel world! I did not receive a copy of this book for an honest review. I bought it! This is by no means my usual genre but I couldn’t put this book down! It had me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails. YES! I chewed my nails as I turned the pages. No matter how crazy and warped the characters were I had to see what happened with them next. I could feel their sadness and their pain. This story is original, unique, and one that will have love and hate the characters all at the same time, much like they felt for each other.
I recommend this book for all those dark fantasy lovers out there and for those who want to read something crazy and different!

BOOK REVIEWS

I am going to start reviewing books.  I already write reviews of books that I acquire on my own through Amazon, especially the freebies and indie authors, but I am going to start reviewing as requested.

This is a step I am taking that I decided to do after long thought and consideration.  It is not something I take lightly.  I know and realize how important it is for indie authors to obtain honest reviews, myself being in that community.

So therefore I want to give back to the writing community and put my services out there.

Indie authors: Contact me through paranormalromancewriter@gmail.com with your request, synopsis/blurb, link of where to buy if available, and cover design.  I will respond to you as quickly as possible. I prefer kindle format but will except ibooks, nook, and pdf.

I will post my review on amazon, goodreads, and here on my blog.  Requests will be first come, first serve due to my timeframe.

I look forward to reading what you have created and dipping into your minds.

A Promise to myself and other Indie Authors.

I read a lot!!!!! Probably more than I write (gotta work on that) and I know how important and helpful it is to have them reviews out there for potential readers to see.  However reviews are very hard to come by especially for the Indie community.  Starting now I plan on writing an honest review for every book I read.  I will post those reviews here with the cover and hopefully a link to amazon where it can be purchased.  Stay tuned…more to come!book-reviews
